And even by the end they were just managing to always stay one step ahead. The first one headed by the United Empire (me), the second one headed by the Riftborn, who had colonized a lot of really nice systems and was ahead in score for most of the game. The galaxy was divided up between two alliances. It was late-game on a huge galaxy with 12 players. Some of the homeworld options are frightening though. Like "Jam Commands," a personal favorite of mine that helped a great deal with ground invasions. Honestly I think this feature needed its own screen with its own dedicated UI kind of like politics or the marketplace.īut also some of the options seem supremely powerful. The interface is a little clunky and not well explained. But a few things about hacking annoyed me. mostly.įortunately my homeworld was off in a far corner of the galaxy so I was spared hacking attempts on it. I can see why people complain about it but I gave it a chance and feel like its ok once you get used to it. In my opinion its a bit clunky as well as some of the options, like the one in the title, seem a little overpowered. So I played through my first game with Penumbra and was playing around with the hacking feature.
